Goodbye Shetland!

This is our last night in Shetland.......we're all packed........the house is clean and tidy ready for my dad's return (he went to see my sister in New Zealand for Xmas)......and I'm feeling pretty emotional!

We got to spend the last few days with dear friends of ours who visited from Edinburgh. Below is their adorable 5 month old baby, Daisy...fitting that I got to get a photo of her in the Hap Shawl I made her back in the hot Fresno summer! It has aready seen heavy usage and actually needed some repair work!

So goodbye from Shetland and see you in a couple of weeks back in California!

Goodness, you live in Fresno? That's not a very hospitable climate for knitting. (I grew up there.)

Loved all your photos and stories from Shetland!

I found your blog via Twist, just in case you were curious. :)

Happy new year, too. :)

Daisy is BEAUTIFUL---how great to see her in the Hap Shawl that you were working on this summer. Compared to Shetland, you'll be returning to warmer climates but still cool temps, rain & fog.

I know this journey back will be rough but we'll be waiting to welcome you back!! Josie is GIDDY about the countdown & is creating a list of who she's going to hug first.

Safe travels to all of you!!

I will miss your posts from Shetland, more than you'll ever know! I hope you return, soon. The picture of the baby in the shawl speaks volumes. I love it. Safe travels!

Oh! P.S.
What photo technique are you using on your shots, that show a bit of gold in the black and whites? I love that!

That baby is just delicious, all swaddled in her gorgeous shawl blanky.

G,

david and I hatched a plan when you were across the globe to get a piece of merchandise from the states to me for Business. There was a hiccup (he gave me the wrong address and UPS are sooo inflexible you know) and it had to be delayed. I have sorted it now and am told that it should arrive between the 12th and the 16th sometime. Sorry about the mode of comms but I didnae have yer email address hen. Picj up the dog and bone and we can have a chin wag.

Ciao
