The artwork for The Shetland Trader was done by my aunt Maggie Riegler. At the time of doing the painting she was unaware that I had become passionate about knitwear and it wasn't until I wrote to ask her permission to use the image that I found out the girl in the picture was supposed to be me! Quite a coincidence...some things are meant to be!

The other image included here is also by my aunt and represents my parents return to the Shetland Islands and to their wee renovated croft in Sandness.

Happened upon your blog through a comment on Kat Coyle's. Your life is rich with generations of art! I love reading about it all. I was also happy to see that it was you that designed that awesome Knitty skirt. I wonder how it would look on someone of larger proportions? I'm tempted. :)
